Re-launch of the Community Re>Paint scheme
April 2010

WiganRecycles and Wigan & District Community Transport announce the re-launch of the Community Re>Paint scheme in the Wigan and surrounding areas.

The scheme will collect unwanted reusable surplus paint from Wigan Council’s Waste Recycling Centres in Ince, Wigan, Atherton and Leigh and re-distribute it free of charge to voluntary and community groups within the Wigan Council area.

Voluntary and Community groups such as Brownies, Scouts, Boys Brigade, Community Centres, Churches etc can contact Kath on 01942 768811 to arrange to visit the paint store at Hope Enterprise Centre, Scot Lane, Wigan. WN5 0PN to select and take away any type or number of tins they require.

The scheme also has a large number of new tins of paint donated from DIY stores and manufacturers, in addition to unwanted surplus useable paint recovered from the Waste Recycling Centres.

There is no charge for this service as by re-using the unwanted useable paint, the scheme reduces pressure on landfill and helps the community at the same time.

So if your group is in need of paint to freshen up your premises – give Kath a ring on 01942 768811
